Hey Josh, not sure if it slipped your mind or if you just aren't aware but Pat Curran knocked Straus out in the 1st match. Straus won the 2nd in a close decision. This would be the 3rd battle. The series being 1-1 is the reason for the rematch.
Pat Curran won 2 different Bellator tourney and defended his title a couple times. He is the perfect example of the new Bellator rule about past Champions being a great idea IMO.
I completely forgot about the first fight. As for the second, I thought it was pretty definitively Strauss. I suppose that makes it a little more relevant.
They continually change there own rules in order to push the fighters they consider big names and. They should stop pushing the tournament format if it is irrelevant. Freire got screwed over by Bellator booking a rematch that didn't really need to happen right now.
