12 Lines Short and to the Point
by, J. Bongat - circa 199X
Into all of us a sadness is born,
And on it's hip is joy.
They bicker and fight and tug apart,
In their innocence so coy.
Yet every day one falls asleep,
And the other let's us know it's there.
Sometimes they seem to trade shifts,
Keeping us unaware.
But without one the other would die,
In a tragic dichotomy.
So without sorrow you'll have no joy,
It's part of you and me.
It doesn't matter if you agree or disagree
... As long as I don't bore you and I spark a moment of thought, my goal is achieved
