I'm looking for someone to mimick... who do you consider the most effective grappler in MMA these days? I would like to study 1 fighters technique.
I wouyld agree he is great but as for one person to mimic I am not sure I would take huges and Gracie and kinda combine them and I think you would have a very very potent grappling style.UFCFAN33 said:I would say matt hughes has the best wrestling tec. But thats just my opinion
Ya i agree...:thumbsup:The Don said:I wouyld agree he is great but as for one person to mimic I am not sure I would take huges and Gracie and kinda combine them and I think you would have a very very potent grappling style.
I just realized that this was the question. If I had to pick one guy today, it would probably be Hughes, just because he's so fundamentally sound. Nog and Fedor are also great picks.rdlviper said:I'm looking for someone to mimick... who do you consider the most effective grappler in MMA these days? I would like to study 1 fighters technique.
Rashad Evans??Josh Koshcheck?? ....they dont come near top 20 for grappling. Josh Koshcheck has been submitted and put in dangerous submissions with his grappling.Rashad Evans he takes the his opponent down and doesnt do much. His last fight with Sam H Rashad was about to tap. What about BJ's grappling skills? Hughes has great takedowns but so do other former wrestlers like Diego Sanchez, Sean SHerk, Josh Koshcheck, Rashad Evans, etc.
Yeah, Em's right with this one. Koshcheck has sloppy submissions and Evans is good, but not particularly dominant.Eminem said:Rashad Evans??Josh Koshcheck?? ....they dont come near top 20 for grappling. Any one got some clips of Frank? I have heard of him never actually seen him fight... And when he and Ken retire they should both go to the WWE as a tag team... AFTER they are fully done with thier MMA carears.A DOG said:If u want to mimick someones grappling style Frank Shamrock is the guy. Don't get me wrong Noguiera and Fedor are also great picks but Frank is a good teacher and he's one of the best grapplers out there to this day. He is a very smart fighter and I think u can pick a lot of stuff from him. There is a DVD u can check out called Frank Shamrock MMA Training Seminar, u can get it at almost any major dvd store.
I have to agree with you here, Frank is a very intense grappler and has excellent control/submissions. But I think Cotoure is the best all around grappler, he is so good at disarming his opposition and keeping them where he wants them. combine those two and WOWA DOG said:If u want to mimick someones grappling style Frank Shamrock is the guy. Why limit yourself to one fighters style. Combine many different styles and make your own. You need your own style, because what works for one may not work for you...:dunno:rdlviper said:I'm looking for someone to mimick... who do you consider the most effective grappler in MMA these days? Hmm he does have a point part of the reason I mentioned more then one fighter. but yea you can learn from someone but you need to make it your own or it will not work for you and don't expect the same moves to work the same against everyone every situation is different. leran how to do differentvariations of the same movealamojj said:Why limit yourself to one fighters style.
