Saying "boy" about a black person is only derogatory if you said it in the South where it could theoretically be considered a slur. By the same token, nobody bats an eye in the States when u say "bugger" but in canada or UK not a good idea at all.
Having said that, Matt Serra doesn't offend me any more than any other bigmouth athlete, and there's a lot of them.
