Fedor could be number 1, he probably is. However, he will no longer have that spot if he keeps fighting guys like Hong Man Choi. It's not about what you can do or what you've done, its about what you've done lately. He's still basically undefeated but look at his recent wins, Lindlands a good fighter but lets be honest, hes a middleweight. Hong Man Choi is a beast but not that experienced in MMA, his groundwork looked horrible, that arm bar was waiting to happen. Mark Hunt has great standup and a great chin but Fedor is a bad matchup for him and like many probably predicted, he was submitted on the ground. Mark Coleman is one dimensional and old, easy win. Zuluzinho? Do I even need to bother?
It's a shame that his legacys starting to fade due to fighting weak competition but all he needs is to fight a solid top 10 heavyweight and he'll be right back at number 1, but until then I think its unfair to have that "Fedor doesn't need to fight top competition, we ALL know what would happen anyways!" mentality. Might as well have every top guy at their weight class not fight top competition anymore either.
I'll put number 1 heavyweight as undecided.
