1. How dangerous is getting knocked out? Can you die?
2. What should be done to help someone recover from a knockout?
3. If there is no paramedic around is it a moronic idea to use thin gloves?

thx, any info will be appreciated
First, make sure that whatever surface you're fighting on is soft enough that it won't cause head trauma if someone gets knocked out and takes a nose dive into it (i.e. - don't fight on concrete).

As for your questions.
1. There isn't much of a health issue involved in getting knocked out as long as that's the end of the fight and the person that's been knocked out doesn't have any more fights afterwards. Otherwise, with multiple KO's the brain starts to swell (bad) and blood clots are more likely (also bad).

2. Pee on him. Think of it like a sting from a jellyfish. To help his brain re-establish its' equilibrium, the high acidity of urine has a chemical reaction with the inner ear that aids in recovery time. Be sure to aim for his ear.

3. Next, don't use regular 4 oz MMA gloves. Even if you are too young to have a job and have to worry about explaining weird cuts and bruises on your face when you go in to junior high, you're still old enough to understand the concept of a hospital bill. 4 oz gloves are great at making cuts and leading to stitches. Assuming you're going to do this regardless of what we say... use something like this:
