Garcia was way to small for 155. I think this might just be more a case of a good fighter dropping down to a weight much more suitable to him, and catching a guy with his pants down. I still also think people underestimate the whole flying across half the world to fight in hostile environments thing.

I do agree though the rankings are little iffy. Its really just so hard to judge since most of these guys will never fight each other. At least with Elitexc and all these MMA organizations coming together to make good match ups we get to see cats like Melendez(who I do think is a top 5 LW) match up against good Japanese fighters. Some I think really are deserving of the rankings and others are riding on past accomplishments when Zuffa was ignoring the LW and lower divisions as a whole.

Im not gonna comment so much on the lesser weight classes since Im not the biggest expert on them but I will say that guys like Kawajiri, Ishida, and Gomi could come over and do some damage in the UFC. I agree about Sakurai, but I dont think it has to do with skill hes been kind of pigeon hold because of his weight which really sucks because I think he would be bad ass if he could actually make 155. His stand up is great, especially his leg kicks and counter punching. Hes also got alot of skills off his back and his chin is solid.

Props to WEC though for actively pursuing the lower weight class guys from Japan, I figured they would just mostly ignore them.
