So I think like you said he would have to control Condit when Condit is on his back.

But if Diego some how ends up on his back, I just don't see it going well for him. Condit is well versed with his strikes by mixing up punches with elbows. But I think the only way Diego wins is by decision. Sorry if it comes off as nuthugging on my part for Condit, but I just see him as having more ways to win than Diego.
I agree that if Diego ends up on his back, he's basically f*cked. I just don't really see that as a scenario that would reasonably play out.

I will say that I think Nick Diaz is an incredibly active fighter off of his back and while he doesn't strike as much as Condit does, Diaz does come from that classic Cesar Gracie mindset of constant attacks from the bottom and the top.

That said, I don't think that Condit has ever fought anyone as explosive as Diego, standing or on the ground, so I think that we should respect the quality of opponent that Diego has fought. I'm not going to dismiss condit for that reason, but Diego has fought some serious warriors and beaten some of them pretty severely, while Condit hasn't fought the same caliber of guys, in my mind.

That's just a thought. I agree that Condit will make it a fight on the ground, and I mean it when I say it's only a slight edge. We'll see, though. Condit is a long, lanky guy, so I'd be interested to see how Diego deals with his build, as well as with his actual technical skills.
