the learning curve won't be too bad. for the beginning of his first season he will be very frustrated as he has to wrestle against kids that have been doing it for a lot longer then him. illinois is a very very good wrestling state and there are a lot of good camps around you. here's a link to a good one at northern illinois university... http://www.niuwrestlingcamps.com/ also check out http://www.jrobinsonwrestlingcamps.com/wrestling/. the j rob camp is the best camp in the united states. i wouldn't go for the 28 day camp but they do have 10 and 5 day camps. the only problem about that camp is it's in minneanoplis minnesota and i dont know how far from you that is but going to a camp will help him so much. i went to cornell university in new york with my wrestling team sophomore year and it was a great experience. it helped everybody so much because you get to wrestle kids from many different states and all different skill levels. the sooner you get him into a camp the better because if he does it this summer he will already have a knowledge of the basic moves and will already have some experience so when it comes time for the season he will have less to learn and can get right into the more advanced moves.
