I've been using bare knuckle pressups with feet raised off bed, to get more weight involved. When getting in position I tweaked my wrist doing it flat palmed so I just did it knuckle. I also can appreciate the comment about more range of motion with knuckles (more stretch). With feet raised its a little like an incline press in a gym so the upper pec is worked more.
