People need to back off the refs on stoppages. When they step in and a fighter jumps up really quick, everyone bitches and moans that it was an early stoppage. If the ref waits a second to give the fighter a second to recover, resulting in the KO'd fighter eating several more undefended shots, everyone bitches and moans the other way that he wasn't protecting the fighter and it was a late stoppage.
Unless it's a clear cut case, you have to give the ref the benefit of the doubt because for the refs, according to UFC fans, "your damned if you do, and damned if you don't."
If you want to look at a good example, watch Ortiz vs. Shamrock II again. He ate about 3-7 vicious elbows to the face and everyone cried early stoppage. Had Shamrock stayed on the mat and made funny moaning noises like the guy from last night, everyone would have called late stoppage. Hindsight is 20/20.
If you really want something worthwhile to bitch about, start with Cecil Peoples and the judges/judging system. That is easy argue
