If you are sprinting on a trail or the road, don't completely stop. If you are running ooutside (not on a treadmill), then sprint for about 20 seconds, and then slow down and jog for 15 seconds--DON'T COME TO A COMPLETE STOP and then sprint again. Believe it or not, walking or stopping and then sprinting in cycles puts a strain on your heart, then cycling between jogging and sprinting.
