Hmm I dunno...like I guess it did somewhat make a different, but nothing substantial from what I could tell.
Fighters were of course still able to stall, and there was a lot of good stand-ups by the refs. But the slant could still slightly allow the fighter on top to trap his opponent to some extent. And when they would back paddle to the top it seemed to make it quite a bit easier for the opponent pushing them up there to take him down.
What does everyone else think?
Overall, I personally don't think it made much of a difference. To me it definitely seemed more of a gimmick that Meworwitz(sp?) used in attempts that people would watch his talent-less HW tourney, and super-fights of old fogies.
Curious to see the PPV/Live gate numbers....I really doubt this show did that well. Like if none of us on here are buying the PPV, are casual MMA fans actually gonna buy it? I wouldn't think so....
