Being knocked unconscious is no fun. The reason why he was able to identify Rampage and not know what happened is that when knocked out, your short term memory is affected, not long term unless it is severe and causes swelling of the brain. He remembered Rampage because he knew Rampage before the fight, he did not remember he fight because it just happened. Safe to say he probably would have not been able to tell you what he had for breakfast that morning, any conversations that day, any multitude of short term memory aspects. The length of time varies of course and many are able to remember with time and with explanations of what happened.
