Does anyone know how he is doing after that vicious KO from Tim Sylvia?

He had to be stretchered out with a neck brace and oxygen. From what I understand he had to spend some time in the hospital and hasn't fought since. Thanks!

if you google him, you can go to this one forum where this guy on a body builder website says he died in the cage from the head kick. but then everyone else that posts argues thats not what happened, based on the fact that dana always talks about how no one has died in mma. i cant find his website either, or anything related to him after the fight. maybe he just pulled a nate quarry.

I don't think he's dead or else sherdog or other websites would have probably said something about it. Plus the anti MMA bastards would use it to there advantage.

But ya alot of injurys make it hard for fighters to come back, maybe he's just turned into a trainer, who knows.

Tra could never really hang with the elite, maybe that kick was just the convincing he needed to finally hang it up ... good point about Nate Quarry, he hasn't come back either and it's been about a year
he doesnt even post anything on his website (quarry).. i saw him in the casino at ufc 57 and talked to him for a couple minutes. i wasnt sure what to say to him. his nose still looked crooked. i was like "tough loss man, you just gotta get back in there"..and he was like "yeah its all good"..at first he seemed kinda excited that we noticed him, then when i brought up the fight he got all down. plus randy retired that night, i think that had a really big effect on him. when they should the two of them back stage, nate hugged him like three times in a row like he didnt want to let him go. he might not be cleared for awhile either though so i guess we'll have to wait and see. here he is with my girl at mandalay..

I like Nate Quarry he has to have one of the best attitudes in MMA, i hope he does not quit.
yeah it would be a shame if he did, but he got punished by rich , and rich got destroyed by silva. so its kinda like damn, does he really want to worj his way back up to a title shot?? it could be the first death in mma. he should consider dropping to 170 if he can make it. he is the same size as gsp, so it could be possible

I don't think fighters like Nate Quarry have anywhere to go ... honestly, I'm sure he just saw the guy who dominated him like crazy (Rich Franklin) get dominated like crazy (by Anderson Silva) and probably knows at his age (around 34) that there really is not too much chance for him. People might knock my attitude for being pessimistic or whatever but I think I'm also being a realist and you hate people to go on and take beatings when they just aren't at that level. Look at Ken Shamrock ... people can say all sorts of nice things, and he has accomplished a lot, but truthfully when it's time to hang it up, go out gracefully and be at peace. Ken stayed far too long and let his star blemish. Tra Telligman falls in this bunch of people and should probably hang it up.

To be fair to Telligman, he is actually a pretty good fighter with very good striking ability even at his age. Just look at the war he had with Pedro Rizzo at UFC 43.

He has just been unfurtunate that he always seems to get the very top guy's to fight every time he steps foot in the Octogon (Vitor Belfort, Pedro Rizzo, Tim Sylvia).

I also saw that thing about him being dead which is just BS. If a fighter were to ever die in the Octogon, God forbid, it would be the end of the UFC. They would be shut down and basically outlawed in every state in the country.

There are boxers killed in the ring every year and it continues. The UFC would not be shut down if someone died in the cage....

No, but people don't view MMA the same way they view boxing. Boxing is a violent sport, MMA is an unregulated fight. Nevermind that MMA is considerably safer than boxing, short and long term.

A death in a major MMA promotion would be a much bigger deal.

People are still getting used to it. Some refuse.

Yeah, a death in a major MMA event would be bad news for the sport...big time. People would be all over it. I wonder what happened to Tra though? It's weird, I Googled him and looked for anything recent about him for a good 20minutes and came up with nothing. Strange. Sylvia's high kick was a mean one, but I seriously doubt it was enough to kill Tra lol He seems to have disappered after that fight though

A death in the UFC, especially live on PPV or worse live on Spike, would be all the ammunition the MMA hating politicians and media need to make it illegal and or impossible to get it sanctioned. The media and heat that would arise from it would be intense. It would be a public relations nightmare.

OK, so I'm not the only one... I've been trying to find out what happened to him since that last fight - it looked super serious but couldn't find anything and started to give up until I saw this thread... so let's keep looking and if anyone finds out I would love to know!!!

Does anyone know the story behind that missing pectoral muscle? I couldn't take my eyes of that shit!
From what I understand it was a car accident when he was very young. If I'm misinformed some please correct me.
