Hughes just looks slow these days, or perhaps everyone else is just a little faster. He doesn't have that explosivness or drive through power he did 5 years ago. GSP however, does....and he has it in spades. Plus, his striking is good enough, and varied enough to keep Alves more off balance. Everyone knows Hughes is not a threat on the feet, and all you have to worry about is the takedown...as such, guys are more prepared to defend it.

I think GSP will take Alves down at will, pass his guard, beat on him for a while until Alves gives up a submission. Alves needs to damage GSP on the feet if he hopes to win against him...something he can do, but GSP won't give him a lot of opportunities to do it....so he has to make the ones he gets count.
