I don't like stoppages where the guy who is stopped isn't at all damaged, even if it is "technically" justified. In real world terms, i think the stoppage sucked.

This is why I really really miss Big John, no he wasn't perfect all the time, but he seemed to have an innate ability to use his own experience of reffing fights and knowing most of the fighters in the octagon to know when someone was in serious danger or if the damage being taken was not that bad to make the call of stopping the fight. The Liddell-Jackson 2 fight comes to mind- Chuck goes down but John waits and it's only when Chuck goes limp does he stop the fight- he granted Chuck the 5-10 secs to see if he could recover before stopping it. Werdum gets mount and hits the first shot at 00:32 and ends it at 00:20- I think he should have let it continue.
Quite honestly I'm not pissed off or greatly upset over this- I wanted Werdum to win this but I'd rather see the fighters continue before the ref jumps in too quickly. I don't want to see someone bludgeoned into oblivion but I don't think that was the case at all in this fight.
