I think it's a good idea if you're trying to drop to a lower weight class or just trying to better your cardio and diminish your dependence on brute strength.
I know that when Randy Couture dropped from heavyweight to lightheavyweight he removed red meat and fish became his primary source of protein, along with alot of green, leafy vegetables.
Like I said, probably better for someone trying to work on their cardio and/or lose weight. Depends on the fighter.
