I don't think increasing maximal strength is that essential for fighters, because most of them already have a solid strength foundation. There are so many things to do when it comes to fighting and realistically strength training is one of the last things on that list. And Kongo is seen doing deadlifts in his UFC All Access I believe.
As far as isolation exercises, some of them have their places in routines, but I think most great fighters, such as A. Silva, succeed despite their workout program, not because of it.
