The theory behind creatine and gatorade comes from the carbs. The carbs in gatorade cause an insulin spike, which helps pull more creatine in the muscle (simplified version). This theory has been out since creatine has been available. Out of all the methods used to push more creatine into the muscle, this one has the most evidence behind it.

The next generation of creatine products will contain ingredients that improve insulin sensitivity.
