BanDogs MMA Trio Star In Ultimate Challenge - Payback On The 22nd August ‘09

No less than three members of the new BanDogs MMA organisation, based out of Rooney’s Boxing Gym in South East London, are set to compete at the Ultimate Challenge - Payback event on Saturday the 22nd August at The Troxy, London E1.

The BanDogs MMA fighters due to take part in the Sky televised event are the highly exciting Jamaine Facey, who is to face the mega experienced Lee Doski from the Tsunami Gym, in Welterweight battle that on paper looks to have the makings of being the fight of the night. Also at Welterweight Richard Griffin is looking to turn the tide when he takes on Andy Gooch from Team Relentless. The final BanDog MMA fighter taking part is Wild boy Alex Harvey, whose only loss was to Wesley Johnson at the July Ultimate Challenge - Heat event back in July, faces another tough challenge in the form of John Kelly of Team Noqueira in a Featherweight contest.

Following a Muay Thai coaching session from Russ Connor one of the BanDog MMA fighters, Jamaine Facey, took a little time to talk about his preparations and his upcoming fight against Lee Dosky. “Before we start I want to say thanks to Mark Buchanan and Mr T for starting this up - BanDogs MMA - It was in everyones mind but they did it. It’s started now. It’s a new age, a new era. It’s a new MMA team and we’re going to make some serious impact on the MMA scene.

Yeah, I’m up against Lee Dosky. He’s an experienced fighter with twenty plus bouts in the MMA scene. It’s an experienced fighter I’m facing again. I don’t mind, to me it’s a number. I think it’s gonna be a good fight. His stature is similar to mine, we’re kind of the same height, arm lengths and leg lengths. It’s gonna be trickier I’d say, not difficult, fight than what I’ve had before, but I’ll overcome that.

Training has been fantastic. This has been the hardest training for a fight in my life. I’ve worked and worked when I trained before but the facilities wasn’t there. I come down to BanDogs at Rooney’s Gym and it’s been fantastic. I literally am back to basics, especially with the boxing, because I’ve neglected that area. I’ve been picking up on all the basic things I should have been. I’m finding it hard but am glad because where I was training before you could only go so far as it was just on a Tuesday. At Rooney’s we train everyday. Like today we’ve had Russ (Russ Connor) coaching us on Muay Thai. I love it. Muay Thai is a beautiful way of fighting.

I’d like to say another thank you to Mark Buchanan and Mr T, and remind the readers to get down to The Troxy this Saturday for the best show in town.”

Don’t forget BanDogs MMA stars Jamaine Facey, Richard Griffin and Alex Harvey are all in action this coming Saturday at the Ultimate Challenge - Payback at The Troxy in London E1.
