Now they say, Dan Miller isn't going to be able to fight next week:
The UFC Fight Night 19 card is still undergoing changes with less than two weeks until the event. UFC newcomer Jay Silva will step in for the injured Dan Miller and face TUF 7 runner-up CB Dollaway on the non-televised preliminary portion of the event. News of Miller's injury and Silva's insertion in the bout was first reported by MMA Madness.com.
According to the report, Dollaway's original opponent, Dan Miller, was forced to withdraw due to an infection that he developed. Miller was looking to rebound from a loss he suffered at the hands of Chael Sonnen at UFC 98 in May.
Silva is coming off a win over Ray Lizama at last month's Call to Arms event. He previously defeated longtime King of the Cage veteran Reggie Orr at Call To Arms 1 in May. Silva is off to an undefeated 5-0 start to his young career, with all of his wins coming via stoppages, including four by TKO or KO. In the past, Silva had been under the tutelage of former UFC light-heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson and UFC heavyweight contender Cheick Kongo.
The Arizona Combat Sports trained fighter, Dollaway, is coming off of a loss against fellow TUF alum Tom Lawlor at UFC 100 in July. Prior to the loss, he had won two straight fights in the UFC against Mike Massenzio and Jesse Taylor. Dollaway sports an even 2-2 UFC record , with his only other loss coming against Amir Sadollah in his official UFC debut at TUF 7 finale last June. He does not like going the distance with his opponents too often as he has finished seven of his eight career victories.
UFN 19 will take place on Sept. 16 from the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, OK, and will be followed up by the debut episode of the 10th season of the Ultimate Fighter reality series. Both will be televised on Spike TV.
The main event of UFN 19 will be a lightweight bout between TUF 5 winner Nate Diaz and fellow TUF alum Melvin Gulliard. Gray Maynard and Roger Huerta will also battle it out in another featured lightweight bout.
