In kick boxing the emphasis is more on punches and kicks. If it's an option you should take up Muay Thai. In Muay Thai you train to do as much damage as possible and elbows and knees are an integral part of what you learn. Thai kicks are also more powerful than kick-boxers kicks. Plus it's cooler IMO.
