AfflictionWorld renowned MMA clothing company, Affliction, reached into their pockets and pulled together an organization of top fighters, marketed & publicized by Affliction Entertainment VP, Tom Atencio. This organization, unlike their competition, is open to cross-promotion.
I think he's going to be harder to take down in the ring against the ropes (more than against the cage anyway) and he has the handspeed and power to finish Fedor standing. on the ground there's no question who wins...
Ya, I agree that Tim's only shot at winning would be to keep this one standing for sure. IMO I don't really see Fedor having much trouble taking Tim down though ring or cage. Didn't Fedor take down Matt Linland and that was in a ring at Bodog?(correct me if I'm wrong) Sylvia likes to clinch and I think Fedor will probably take him down from there and sub him in typical Fedor fashion.

Wow this card has more ass kicking HW matchups than the last year of all other organizations combined. Crazy, if Affliction can actually get people to watch cards like this sell themselves.
This card has been such a roller coaster for me... I initially thought I was going to see Sylvia/Fedor live in Dallas, to having a stacked undercard... then having it moved to Anaheim and becoming stacked further, just breaking my heart, but still excited to see a card with so much talent.

good lord, on the ground? in general, theres no question who wins. fedor is one of the baddest people on earth. if 44 year old randy couture could whoop his ass, fedor is going to dominate him. were talking about the undisputed heavy weight champion of pride. the man was undefeated in undoubtly the best mma forum ever. and he didnt fight chumps, noguiera, randlemann, fujita, mark coleman, cro cop, gary goodridge, semmy schilt... "As of January 2008, Emelianenko has compiled an amateur record of seven wins without any losses,[27] and a professional record of 28 wins, one loss, and one no contest. Six of these wins are by knockout and fifteen by submission." the nc was an accidental headbutt and the loss was a massive cut. tim sylvia, pray to god... because you are 2 months away from meeting him. fedor 2nd round at the latest knockout.

Given that Nog subbed Sylvia 10 secs after their fight went to the ground I can't see Sylvia winning against Fedor. Of course Sylvia has a strikers chance but I think his poor ground game will be exposed.

Does anyone know what the terms are for this fight?
Does anyone want to take a guess as to what Fedor is getting paid?
I mean, is this fight being made possible because Fedor and the others didn't want to sign a conditional one or two year contract with UFC and have no say-so as to who they fight?
I wonder if Affliction approached Randy Couture to fight Fedor...
