Donald Trump to pursue Tito Ortiz for Affliction MMA

"MMA Quick Quote: Donald Trump to pursue Tito Ortiz for Affliction MMA
By: Jesse Holland

“I’m going to ask Tito to come on board [with Affliction MMA].”

– Affliction MMA investor, Donald trump, today confirmed the obvious during a press conference at Trump Tower in New York, N.Y. — he’s going to pursue former UFC champion Tito Ortiz to come on board with his new promotion. Ortiz was a contestant on the most recent season of Trump’s “The Apprentice” and the two appear to have forged a professional friendship as a result of the experience. Even though Ortiz has expressed a desire to create his own mixed martial arts promotion, if he does sign with Affliction MMA there are some nice fights that could be there such as Renato “Babalu” Sobral, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Vitor Belfort (if he competes at 205) — even Matt Lindland."

I wasn't shocked by this at all- as the two got along well during the Apprentice show. I could definitely see Tito doing this, especially with Trump's backing of Affliction, he may see this as a great way, even better than striking out on his own, to try and get back at Dana.

I really hope Tito signs with someone rather than trying to start his own promotion. I know he thinks of himself as a businessman but the money involved in starting a quality promotion is astronomical and without some serious backers I dont see Tito being succesful with that. I would rather see him have some good fights in an already established org.

Hmmmm, just thought...Tito vs Rog Nog in Affliction?

If Affliction can get Tito, I seriously see them competing with the UFC. Affliction doesn't have any HUGE names known to the general public yet, just extremely good fighters. The best guy they got is AA, and although he's popular, his name obviously doesn't carry like a GSP, Liddell, or Tito. I really hope Tito joins as it will really help the org stay up.

Nobody like tim sylvia, you know the former HW champ, or babalu who got tons of publicity after that extra long choke, or Andrei Arlovski the other former HW champ. No huge names there.

This would really help them out thats for sure.
Currently, they don't have anything near Ortiz in draw power, and there best fighter, Fedor, probably has 1/8th of what ortiz does.

It kinda seems like a no brainer i guess....Tito hates Dana white, elite XC is really his only other choice and Affliction is making more waves than anyone else and has th biggest MMA names other than the UFC....

he should go there no doubt...rematch with randy couture ??? Tell me that wouldnt sell tickets or PPV
