How can anyone say 'Ring>Cage'...?

damn...I thought Affliction put on a solid show, but the ring is just so annoying....

sprawling is awkward and inconsistent (falling through ropes)...

restarts take away from the action....

fighters fall through ropes and hurt themselves....

tonight made me realize how much I hated MMA in a ring...

Exactly. Both have their pros and cons. Seeing as how I've never fought in a cage, I will comment from a fan's point of view; you can see the fight better if it's in a ring.

gss99 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
maybe if they added a few more ropes? Also, those ropes looked cheap to me. Find out what the Japanese use.

Might just be me, but the ring makes it seem less official than the Octagon. UFC fights looks more proffesional for some reason.

I prefer the ring. I hate nothing more than 2 guys hugging for a full 5 minutes against a cage. The ropes seem to break up hugfests more quickly, and I like how fighters can corner people, which adds to more excitement. I will say that they need to reinforce those ropes better as it was kinda ridiculous in the Babalu fight. There never seemed to be as many issues with PRIDE so I don't know what was goin on.

In PRIDE they had like three guys holding the ropes though when they were up against them. At Affliction they just had the ref (I think). And they used to hit the fighters hands lol when they were holding the ropes and make them let go.

exactly. I think 2 more supports on the robes would have solved that. My friends were like WTF when it kept happening and i said what you said about PRIDE. Needless to say the LOVED the event. Turned like 20 ufc huggers into real mma fans tonite. I pimped Fedor out like crazy and he delivered.
