I put everything I had on buentello, Konrad has yet to do a single thing that I was impressed by in his mma career. I see him gassing in the third and getting caught by Buentello.

I see him doing what he usually does and winning a yawnworthy decision.

No 3 round non title, cause in Bellator I believe they say their title shots are "EARNED and NOT GIVEN."

What are they going to do when one of there champs gets his ass kicked in a non title fight? That will take a lot of validity out of there tournament.

Went to decision:

Quote:
Round 1 - Konrad pumping his jab out there without really landing it but now lands a nice jab and a few leg kicks. Buentello isn't really letting his hands go and continues to eat leg kicks as he is giving Konrad no reason to not be comfortable. Buentello finally lands a left hand but then backs off. Two jabs by Buentello but he eats another leg kick. Uppercut by Buentello just misses. Leg kick by Konrad again and another jab. The round ends and it was all stand-up and 10-9 Konrad.

Round 2 - Buentello looks like he intends on being more aggressive and Konrad keeps looking to jab. Buentello just keeps trying to move away and is not exploiting the openings Konrad is leaving which is very frustrating to watch. This fight has been awful in a totally different way than anyone expected. Finally Konrad shoots and he can't get the takedown. Konrad continuing to work the leg kicks. Buentello misses with the uppercut again. 10-9 Konrad again, I guess.

Round 3 - Both men active early, pumping their jabs. Konrad lands a roundhouse, then a teep to the body of the Texan. Buentello lands a short hook, but his head is snapped back by another Konrad jab. Buentello lands two jabs, but gets smacked with a Konrad counter as he comes in. Buentello hits the canvas in a spill, and "The Polar Bear" dives on his prey. Konrad gets over-under control around the neck and takes Buentello's back, briefly locking up a partially-applied rear-naked choke on Bunetello. Buentello escapes, but Konrad stays on top, claiming half guard with three minutes to go. Busy right hands from Konrad keep Buentello defensive off of his back. Konrad continues to chip away with right hands, trying to pass. Unexplicably, referee Dan Miragliotta stands the pair up with just under a minute to fight. Buentello lands a right hook to the body, and Konrad smacks him with an uppercut. Buentello attacks again, and eats another uppercut. "The Headhunter" lands a lunging uppercut of his own, but Konrad clinches and waits out the clock from there.

Official scores:Jon Bilyk and Pat Avery see it 30-27, while Cardo Urso scores the bout 29-28 for the winner by unanimous decision, Cole Konrad.
