***OFFICIAL*** Bellator 67 Pre/Post Fight Discussion
Quote:
Bellator Fighting Championships is in the middle of a week off from live events, but the company returns to action next Friday, May 4, with Bellator 67.
While the evening's MTV2-broadcast main card has been official for several weeks, the Spike.com-streamed preliminary card is still coming together.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed current plans include an appearance by Canadian prospect Nordine Taleb (7-1 MMA, 1-0 BFC), who meets an opponent yet to be named, as well as the return of kickboxing star Cosmo Alexander (1-1 MMA, 1-1 BFC) against undefeated lightweight Lowrant-T Nelson (4-0 MMA, 0-0 BFC).
Taleb, who boasts a six-fight win streak, made his Bellator debut earlier this moth, earning a decision win over Matt Secor. Taleb's opponent is expected to be named in the next few days.
Alexander, a former kickboxing world champ, made his professional debut this past October, suffering a decision loss to Josh Quayhagen. However, he bounced back with a 20-second TKO win over Avery McPhatter. He meets Nelson, a Grudge Training Center produce who turned pro in 2011 and quickly posted four-straight wins all via stoppage.
In additional action, welterweight Will Romero (7-3 MMA, 1-0 BFC) meets Matt Veal (9-7 MMA, 0-0 BFC), undefeated Nick Kirk (7-0 MMA, 0-0 BFC) meets David "Bo" Harris (6-3-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC) in a bantamweight bout and Nathan Gunn (9-2 MMA, 0-0 BFC) faces Dom O'Grady (13-4 MMA, 0-0 BFC) in a welterweight matchup.
Romero fights for the second time under the Bellator banner and looks to extend a current two-fight win streak. He meets Veal, who fights for the first time since a March win over two-time WEC vet Courtney Buck.
Minnesota's "The Big Hurt" Kirk made his professional debut in March 2010 and has gone undefeated through his first seven professional fights. He makes his Bellator debut against Harris, who hopes to rebound from a submission loss to recent UFC signee Mitch Gagnon.
Finally, Gunn looks to build on the strength of a 25-minute decision win over Nabil Khatib as he takes on eight-time King of the Cage veteran O'Grady, who boasts a three-fight win streak.
With the additions to the lineup, Bellator 67 now includes:
MAIN CARD (MTV2)
Champ Michael Chandler vs. Akihiro Gono (non-title fight)
Bryan Baker vs. Ben Saunders (welterweight-tourney semifinal)
Ryan Ford vs. Luis "Sapo" Santos
Damian Grabowski vs. Dave Huckaba
PRELIMINARY CARD (Spike.com)
Nathan Gunn vs. Dom O'Grady
Nordine Taleb vs. TBA
Will Romero vs. Matt Veal
David "Bo" Harris vs. Nick Kirk
Cosmo Alexander vs. Lorawnt-T Nelson

They almost always spell his last name wrong but Alexandre is one to look out for on the prelims if you can catch them on Spike.com. They come on while a lot of people are still at work or headed home Friday afternoon. And Baker vs Saunders! Bring that one on!

Cosmo Alexandre, Nordine Taleb & Dom O'Grady all won. The Kirk-Harris and Romero-Veal fights are after the main card.

Chandler is for real. Guy is an absolute beast. Reminds me of belfort after he hurts someone.
Anyone else see how after the ref ended the fight, chandler stood up and said sorry? I'm an instant fan. The video about him before the fight was pretty touching too. What a great guy.
And the fights are always streaming on spike.com
