Bellator Fighting Championships' Season 8 lightweight tournament kicks off Jan. 31, as the promotion returns to Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., for Bellator 87.

Bellator executives today officially announced the event, and tickets – which range from just $20 to $65 – are on sale now. Bellator first visited the venue this past November for Bellator 82.

The tournament's four opening-round fights take place on the Bellator 87 card, including Guillaume "Il Toro" DeLorenzi (10-1 MMA, 1-0 BFC) vs. Patricky "Pitbull" Freire (10-4 MMA, 3-3 BFC), Thiago Michel (11-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) vs. Alexander "Tiger" Sarnavskiy (21-1 MMA, 1-1 BFC) and Lloyd "Cupcake" Woodard (12-2 MMA, 2-2 BFC) vs. David "The Caveman" Rickels (11-1 MMA, 5-1 BFC). The remaining matchup is expected to be announced soon.

"Our first event at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort was a tremendous success, so we made it a point to get back to Michigan as quickly as we could," Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney stated. "This lightweight Tournament live on Spike is stacked with some of the sport's most exciting finishers, so I expect another night of great fights and a packed arena."

As with all of Bellator's brackets, the competitors are competing for a tournament crown that includes $100,000 in total pay and a guaranteed shot at the title.

In addition to the featured matchups, the evening's preliminary card will host Central Michigan alum and rising star Jason Fischer (5-1 MMA, 2-1 BFC). The Michigan native, who meets an opponent yet to be named, has fought three times under the Bellator banner and looks to bounce back from his first career defeat, a November decision result against Rickels.

"To have the chance to fight again in front of friends, family and fans is a dream come true," Fischer stated. "I wasn't happy with my first performance, and I've got my eyes on a big win in front of the Soaring Eagle crowd."

As with all Season 8 Bellator events, Bellator 87 will get a main card broadcast on Spike TV at 10 p.m. ET. Prelims will stream at Spike.com at 8 p.m. ET.

I love the Pitbull brothers, those guys are animals. Bellator's lighter weights are just insane.
