Bellator 86 Weigh In Results
All fighters hit their marks for Thursday's Bellator 86 card in Oklahoma.
Headlining the event is a welterweight title fight between champion Ben Askren and tournament winner Karl Amoussou. In the co-feature, former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal makes his Bellator debut in a 205-pound tournament opening-round fight against Przemyslaw Mysiala.
Wednesday's weigh-ins took place at WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla., the same site that hosts Thursday's event. The main card airs live on Spike at 10 p.m. ET following prelims at Spike.com at 8 p.m. ET.
Both Askren (10-0 MMA, 7-0 BFC) and Amoussou (16-4-2 MMA, 4-1 BFC) came in under their 170-pound maximum for the five-round title fight. The unbeaten Askren weighed in at 169.8 pounds, while Amoussou was 167.4.
Both Lawal (8-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC) and Mysiala (16-7 MMA, 0-0 BFC) were on target for their tournament fight. The winner will advance to the semifinals and a fight later this season against Emanuel Newton (19-7 MMA, 2-1 BFC), who this past week beat Atanas Djambazov at Bellator 85 to advance to the semis.
All eight welterweight tournament competitors came in on weight without issues, including Douglas Lima (170.6) and Ben Saunders (169.8), who fought each other in the Season 5 welterweight tournament final. Lima won that fight by second-round knockout, then lost to Askren in a title fight this past April.
