Bellator announces three 2011 events for Florida's Seminole Hard Rock

Quote:
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., will again feature prominently on the Bellator Fighting Championships schedule.

Bellator executives today announced they will return to the Seminole Hard Rock three times in 2011, including once for first of three "Summer Series" special events, as well as twice in the fall during the promotion's upcoming fifth season.

The property has hosted six previous Bellator events, including the promotion's debut event in seasons one, two and three.

"The Seminole Hard Rock has been part of the Bellator brand since our very first show, and I'm thrilled that we will be producing a series of live, primetime Bellator events on MTV2 at the Seminole Hard Rock in 2011 and beyond," Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney stated in today's official release.

The first summer special takes place June 25 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Bellator will also hold one "Summer Series" event in July and another in August. Unlike the company's in-season broadcasts, the summer specials will not feature tournament-based matchups.

It's currently unknown if the special events will factor into the company's event numbering system.

Bellator will then return to the Florida venue for a season-five card on Sept. 17 and again on Nov. 19. The promotion has yet to reveal any details regarding the fifth season.

Featuring tournaments in the featherweight, lightweight, welterweight and light heavyweight divisions, Bellator is currently conducting its fourth season – the company's first to air on MTV2.

They are starting a summer series? Does this mean they will run three tournaments a year or just have fight cards put together? Either way this is a good place to put on fights.

Can you imagine the match-ups they could make in the summer series? That is finally match making. We could see some favorites.
