Blog 01: The future of Martin Kampmann

Posted 11-29-2007 at 02:59 PM by 6sidedlie
Martin 'The Hitman' Kampmann was at one time set for a #1 contender match up with MW beast Rich Franklin, which many had picked him as a potential upset. We are around 8 months later, a blown out knee, a couple Anderson Silva KOs, and now an awful MW division, does it make sense that Martin Kampmann could potenially see himself as the #1 contender in the near future?

The list of contenders is weak and dry at 185 these days in the MW division. Dana White has named David Terrel, Thales...

Posted 12-09-2007 at 12:37 PM by brownpimp88
Hey all,

With the awesome new blog feature, and peeps posting blogs of all kinds, I decided that I wanted to start a little something of my own. I wanted it to be original, and something I wouldn't get bored of, so I came up with this.

Basically, I am going to discuss the finer, more technical aspects of MMA in my blog. I am no Randy Couture, but I know quite a bit about the economic and physical aspects of MMA, regarding the amateur and professional scene. I decide...

My thoughts on Strikeforce and the UFC.....

Posted 08-16-2009 at 10:19 PM by coldcall420
I think that the UFC is in a really weird situation here where patience may be the best policy. I say this because there is a Heavy Weight division in Strikeforce but it really isn't stacked at all. That said take for example a guy like Brett Rogers, this is a guy that has never been in the situations fight wise that Fedor has.

I state this because I believe that there will really be no one that Strikeforce can bring to the table that will even come close to beating him.

Where am I going with all this? Well the UFC clearly by showing UFC 100 so soon for free on Spike are trying to capture some of that market and will continue to employ these tactics until they once again most likely impact Strikeforce's business. The point is they may not have to, Strikeforce has alot riding on Fedor including a contract with Showtime, perhaps by the time fedor has walked through all their HW's their draw as a venue could decline without the help of the UFC....

Random MMA Thoughts Part 1

Posted 11-28-2007 at 06:22 PM by Damone
So yeah, I'm really, really digging this new blog dealy, really good stuff, and it'll be interesting to read other's work(s) on here.

So yeah, I don't know why Alistair Overeem continues to be the inconsistent mess that he is. He's talented, sure, but it seems like he's wasting his talents by being a lazy blowhard. He looked pretty solid beating Buentello, though, which is pretty much the standard Overeem we've been seeing since...forever. Next, he'll probably lose in embarrassing...
