Fedor Emelianenko

As we all know Fedor Emelianenko was and still is by some believed to be the best Heavyweight fighter in the world today. But what happens when the best fighter loses a fight, and then no other fights are in the making? It leaves a lot of questions in fans minds. The one that I find myself asking is, after a loss and a layoff, will Fedor still be the same Fedor that we have all come to love to watch compete?

Fedor Emelianenko most recently lost a Strikeforce fight against Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ace, Frabricio Werdum. Since then, Werdum was said to be injured, and Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem was in Japan competing in K-1. This left Fedor somewhat lost in the division. What happend next? Who knows. As of right now, nothing is scheduled for Fedor that we know of. He is slipping down more and more in various Pound for Pound rankings and still nothing.

This brings me to my next point. Should Fedor still be ranked in the top three Pound for Pound as he once was? The asnwer is not clear, but many people are certainly leaning torwards no.

Many people are calling for an immediate rematch with Fabricio Werdum. After finding out that Werdum may have been injured, fans called for a fight with reigning champion, alistair Overeem. A match that is definitely not deserved and is most definitely an insult to Fabricio Werdum.

A match that should be made is Fedor versus Antonio Silva. Silva is most definitely working his way up the rankings, and with Fedor coming off of a loss, it is a fight that will surely put one of them into title contention.

Whatever happens, hopefully Fedor comes back in his next fight and does well.
