My trainee is feeling better today. Now that his left arm is up to snuff, it's time to learn a lot of combination's. Punches in bunches is the term for today.

Day 4/Week 4 - Punching in Volume and Quantity

I. Warming Up
A. Skipping Rope for 2 Rounds - Emphasis on skipping rope for beginners is all about rhythm and being light on your feet. Do this at a brisk pace for two 2-minute rounds with 30-45 seconds of rest in between.
B. Arm Stretches

The plan for this week is to bring out the Heavy Bag and emphasize punching with power, learning to punch "by the numbers," lot's of punching combos, and to expand on basics of punch defense by introducing head movement. Well, initially that was the case. Turns out my trainee threw out his left shoulder earlier in the week. This is going to be challenging...

As a continuation from last week, this week's session will pick up on what was initially put in place last week and expand on it. All movements are done with correct form and technique in mind. I haven't yet made my trainee punch with a true emphasis on power (at this point).

Day 2/Week 2: Baby Steps... Small and Slow

A. Stance (Textbook Boxing Stance)
B. Footwork - Review the Slide and Step, Forward, Backwards, Left, Right....

I had recently offered a friend of mine some of my spare time to teach him the basics of boxing. I am (in intent and content) simply going to teach him basic techniques found within the sweet science, and a bit of applicable knowledge as to how it works.
