My thoughts on MMA currently

Wow, MMA is in a really messed up state right now. With noone knowing whats going on with the LW, WW, or HW belts. Things are pretty messed up. But all that doesnt really matter to me. Becuase there are a bunch of fights coming up that I want to see.

First fight is obviously Wanderlei Silva vs Chuck Liddell. This is one we have been dreaming about for years. A little luster might be lacking but this is still a HUGE fight for MMA. Ive gone back and forth thinking who would win this...

Sam Vasquez Dead at 35

After sustaining blows to the head during a Mixed Martial Arts fight, Sam went down. In an occurrence that will surely be debated in the future, Vasquez was allowed to stand in an attempt to continue, but fell back to the ground. He was taken out on a stretcher and had minor seizures.

He had two separate surgeries to fix clots. He died Friday due to complications.

The Landscape of the 155 Pound Division (MMA not just the UFC)

I am going to start off my blog with my favorite weight class. I am just going to rank the top guys and talk about the overall structure of the division right now. As the title says I will cover everyone I think belongs not just guys in the UFC but it will still probably be UFC biased because it is the biggest organization and is the most active within the 155 pound weight class. I will start off by ranking the top 15 or so guys and they are in my order and could easily be moved around a little....

Does this just infuriate me or is there anyone else out there that feels the same way? I decided to rant about this after what [B]Karo Parisyan[/B] said about Jon Fitch, I figured a fighter knowing that there is always a chance that when you walk into the octagon you can lose. But no, he goes and says something unintelligent like this. I ask you Mr. Parisyan: what statistics are you basing this on? Have you in the past beat Jon Fitch 8 out of 10 times? I also ask have, you ever even fought Jon Fitch? I'll answer it for you and the answer is NO! You want your title shot, but I think you should now have to prove in some way you could beat Jon Fitch 8 out of 10 times. Heck, give me 1 out of 5 then you get your shot.

Now to the poster that decide for there argument to say "oh well such and such will beat such and such 9 out of 10 times..." There has been an epidemic of it this year with all the upsets that have happened. I just ask of you, please for the love of god, Budah, Allah or whoever you do or don't pray for - never say 9 out of 10 again.

Why Jon Fitch Won't Ever Beat Top Wrestler's in the WW Division

I like Jon Fitch. He's my favorite guy at 170, followed closely by GSP. But looking at him realistically, he doesn't have what it takes to beat a top wrestler in his division. That sounds weird, even to me...and I'm the one writing it. Fitch is a wrestler, thats what he does. But diving deeper into his wrestling background has shown me that he can't beat the likes of GSP, Hughes, and Koscheck.

Fitch, as some may know, was a wrestler at Purdue University. All we ever hear was that...
