I thought I would use this new blog feature(sick idea) To try and put fighters I think are underrated some love and Also to give some guys who don't get a lot of attention a spot light.

So I figured I start out with 2 Chute Boxe fighters obviously.

Luiz Azeredo

Luiz was a top LW fighter in Pride. However he was always overshadowed by Gomi, Hansen, Sakurai, and others. His record is an unimpressive 11-6.

But he was competitive in all his losses and outside of a loss early in his career to some scrub his other losses were to Hansen by a crazy knee during a close fight. Sakurai by decision. Tony Desouza by decision. Gomi twice in two close fights especially the 2nd one.

He has wins over Paul Daley(a future topic of this blog),Buscape, and Anderson Silva.

Luiz Azeredo hasn't been fighting recently but rumors seem to be linking him to fighting on NYE, and also he is supposed to fight Buscape in February. Whenever he returns trust me he is a dangerous fighter who can compete with anyone in the LW division.

Helio Dipp

Helio was supposed to be the next great Chute Boxe star. He has crazy Muay Thai and fighting at 205 he was thought to be the next Wanderlei, or Shogun.

After going 4-0 including a KO against IFL veteran Brent Beauperlant, Helio hit a wall and lost 3 of his next 4 fights all against experienced talented fighters.

He won his last fight on September 22 and hopefully he is making a turnaround. He has the Muay Thai skills plus he is 6'5 fighting at 205 which gives him a big advantage.

Martin 'The Hitman' Kampmann was at one time set for a #1 contender match up with MW beast Rich Franklin, which many had picked him as a potential upset. We are around 8 months later, a blown out knee, a couple Anderson Silva KOs, and now an awful MW division, does it make sense that Martin Kampmann could potenially see himself as the #1 contender in the near future?

The list of contenders is weak and dry at 185 these days in the MW division. Dana White has named David Terrel, Thales...

I have been tring to work out the LHW division in the UFC the past few days. This is my take on what would be the best senerio for the top tier contenders.

Rampage Jackson: The guy is the champ and everyone is wanting his belt. I know he hurt his hand against Henderson so maybe the layoff time to sort some things out is just giving him time to heal properly. I think the best senerio right now is him being a coach on TUF with Forrest Griffin thus the season ending with he and Griffin...

This was originally posted on 11-04-2007, 09:59 PM by me. BY the way look at the Alexander comment im posting this for me and friends to reffer to, and for you if you want to check it out

As it has already been posted, Arona stated the UFC was tailor made for him and I completely aggree. I feel if he was given the chance to enter the LHW division he could make it more exciting then...

2007 was definately a year to remember as far as the heavyweight division is concerned. After having a very successful MMA career, Randy Couture has cut ties with the UFC, seemingly leaving the UFC Heavyweight division in shambles. With the HW title now vacant, who can and will step up and who will be left behind. Here are the top 5 Heavyweight fighters in the UFC that have the best shot at getting a title shot in 2008. With out further a do, the list........................

Tim Sylvia
He is one of the best strikers in the HW division, if not one of the more boring fighters. But what Sylvia lacks in showmanship, he makes up for in shear size. Standing 6'7 and tipping the scale at 230+ pounds, Sylvia is the biggest HW in the UFC division. He has beaten some great fighters and looks to be back in the title hunt come next year.

Antonio Noguiera
One of Brazils most decorated jiu-jitsu fighters and former Pride HW champion. Noguiera had a very unimpressive debut against Heath Herring. Many people believe that Noguiera is next in line to be champion, seeing as the only 2 people to beat him, are not in the UFC. Noguiera is a brazilian jiu-jitsu expert and has one the majority of his fights on the ground and by submission.

Andrei Arlovski
Former HW champion, Arlovski is a great all around fighter, who can KO fighters or tap them out. Arlovski has had contract issues as of late but it seems that the UFC management want to work things out. Aside from that, Arlovski has won his last 2 fights and want a title shot.

Brandon Vera
His last fight was against Tim Sylvia, and he lost. Vera is still young and needs more experience before he is given an earned title shot. He is one of the more prospectable HW fighters. Look out for Vera in 2008 because he has something to prove to his fans and to the non-believers.

Mirko CroCop
Most likely the best pure striker in the HW divison, CroCop has been unimpressive since stepping into the octagon. He has lost his last 2 fights and the UFC management cannot reach him for comments or bookings. No one but Mirko knows what's next for him. I only hope he gets back to his winning ways and becomes a contender....
