Paulo Filho sure looked beatable last night

Paulo Filho was in a tough spot last night before he pulled off the submission (armbar) to beat Chael Sonnen at WEC 31. Sonnen had a pretty good reach advantage on Filho and he seemed to use it to his advantage in the first round. He rocked Filho with some punches and elbows that seemed to have the champ on the ropes of defeat. The second round Sonnen came out the same way but instead of using something that was working he tried to take the BJJ blackbelt to the ground in the latter part of round 2. That was a bad move on Sonnen's part. Filho had already almost submitted him in the latter part of the 1st. Then he got the armbar in deep which was the end of Sonnen. This was a pretty good fight by both competitors...I do think after seeing this fight, Filho will not hold that undefeated record very long. I mean with the right gamepaln last night Sonnen should have won a decision. Where was this dudes corner men. Why would he want to take Filho the ground when he was dominating the standup so much. It looked to me like he bailed out Filho in a sense because that was looking like the only way Filho was going to defeat Sonnan. Either way great fight and I look forward to seeing the next fights for both guys.
