Me and My Diet.

Well as some of you may know I am currently dieting and working out at a regular pace since Jan. 1. It is kinda my new years resolution and all. I was a fat 218 lbs. Jan. 1 and since then I have lost 17 lbs. this month. How did I do it...Well my diet prior to 2008 was not very healthly at all and changing that was the first thing I had to do. I now eat mostly chicken breast and fruit. I also quit drinking sodas (which is hard). I have not had a soda since new years eve. Its been hard to adjust too since I do not train or anything of that nature like some of you. I work in the construction industry as a surveyor which includes alot of desk work, which is'nt good for someone who was not watching what they ate. I am turning 31 in Feb. and it got to me that I was not heathy anymore. Plus I have been married for 5+ years and I did not worry what others thought about me. Well people on this very forum really got my motivation up to do this. I have had desires to play rec sports for a while and being a former college baseball pitcher I did not want people to see me this way, so I updated my workout routine next (see my gym routine below). I have always went to the gym but if you are not eaing right and putting out maximum effort then you see no results. The gym was kinda like a social thing more than a workout though I did workout a little. I also run alot now. 2-3 miles in the AM on the tredmill and around 4-5 miles in the PM outdoors. Fellows this month has made me feel like a new man. I have so much more nergy than I did. I want to keep this up until I reach @ 165-170, then I will focus more on toning this body up than making it lean. I alreay have alot of muscle going for me because I have mostly always been strong even with no workouts, kinda like a hereditary thing. So if there are any tips some of you guys may have please tell me.
My gym work out:
Bike @ 10 mins.
Bench Press (eithr incline or flat) (3 sets of 10)
Bicep Curls (3 sets of 10)
Seated Leg Extensions (3 sets of 10)
Leg Press (3 sets of 10)
Bench Flys (3 set of 10)
Squats (3 sets of 10)
Bike @10 Mins.
Sometimes not always I will do @50 situps.
This takes me anywhere from 45 mins.- 1 hr. to complete. I do these 4-5 days a week along with the running. Thats the time frame I want to stay in if any of you have any suggesions.
Well I will keep this updated and do'nt forget if there's anything I could bennifit from please let me know.
