UFC 205 Championship Pick 'em

This is a sign up thread for the next event in the Championship Pick 'em League. UFC 205 takes place in two weeks starting at appr. 6:30 PM ET or 11:30 PM GMT. There are SW, WW and LW title fights on this event live from Madison Square Garden in NYC! Here we go!

Since the champ, boatoar, signed up for this event, he'll defend this:

The scheduled fights include:

Quote:
Eddie Alvarez vs. Conor McGregor
Tyron Woodley vs. Stephen Thompson
Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz
Chris Weidman vs. Yoel Romero
Miesha Tate vs. Raquel Pennington
Frankie Edgar vs. Jeremy Stephens
Michael Johnson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
Belal Muhammad vs. Vicente Luque
Jim Miller vs. Thiago Alves
Tim Boetsch vs. Rafael Natal
Liz Carmouche vs. Katlyn Chookagian

Feel free to join in even if you've never played before. If you have any questions let someone know. If you sign up and don't send picks for fights by the time they start each one will be wrong. You can change picks you send leading up the event, but not once it starts. Here's how to pick:

This info comes from Walker's rules/help thread found here: Link.

Quote:
Select the correct fighter: 10 points, if you get that right other points are available
Select the correct method of win: 5 points
Method includes Submission, KO/TKO and Decision.
Select the correct round of win: 3 points
If you select the fight to end by decision then you must choose either unanimous, split or majority instead of a round. If you want to predict a rare outcome such as a DQ, NC or a draw you may do that as well. For the DQ, include the name of the winning fighter and the round it occurred, for the NC just the round, and for a draw include the type of draw the decision was (unanimous, split or majority).

In addition you can earn bonus points for EACH fight by putting the fights in order from your most confident pick to your least confident when you PM them. If there are 10 fights on the card then your most confident pick could earn you an extra 10 points if you get it correct.

Is a 3 fight win streak enough for a title shot? I don't care...

Heh, my man Jo Baddy. Imma be your daddy, son!

I will have to hide from social media for like 24 hours , but eventually I'll see what happened....after the brother in law's wedding on the worst day ever!

I still can't believe I must miss this event live. Seriously incredulous still.

Fk it I'm in.

Unrelated, but are we all just computer illiterate? Through my old rap forums, MMA forums, everything...all forum sites appear to be dying. Rap battling is as big as it's ever been, MMA too...yet these sites have nothing. What sparked this was looking at the MMAF GP and alll the guys I don't know entering it even just 3 years ago...yet we have McGregor and Rousey since then?

I started thinking and it's probably the rise in FB articles, buzzfeed, twitter and reddit. People want bite sized information now that's readily available to them at all times. Is it that none of us have advanced beyond these kind of outlets? Doesn't help that MMAF staff are more interested in banning me and Sportsman than they are running GPs, FFL, getting involved in the Pick Em etc.

I follow a lot on twitter, to the point where i don't even check news sites like Bloody Elbow, Sherdog... because if something happens, i know someone i follow will post it on twitter.

But i like forums, 140 characters is a drag... plus, i like you guys.... mostly. Talking to randoms in a comment section never held my interest for long.

I mostly am a lurker in these types of forums whether it be other sport related or good ol' face punchin. Occasionally, I'll break out the thesaurus (the internal one I've constructed over a lifetime of absorbing information the old fashioned way. Good old rote memorization!) and dazzle you with an eloquent diatribe on the importance of inhaler allowance for athletes.

Where mah man Sportsy at?!

However, besides educated and sometimes emotional posts, I simply enjoy reading headlines and commenting with quality vs quantity.

I also stay on this site cause I like you fellas and ladies. There's probably bigger sites with far more posting and bigger contests, but fukc em. I'm a pretty loyal guy and only have so much time to fukc around with.

Glad you guys signed up there is still time if anybody else wants to. And no matchups are set except the title fight, so there is time to call somebody out as well.
