DREAM NEW! DREAM is a new mixed martial arts organization promoted by: Fighting and Entertainment Group (owners of K-1), and co-produced with the former PRIDE executives from Dream Stage Entertainment. DREAM succeeds and will replace FEG's previous-run mixed martial arts fight series, HERO'S. The series has many of the elaborate production values of PRIDE FC.

Why. Do you hate Sakuraba or something? I mean if Akiyama fought Saku again Saku might just die.
Akiyama is one of the best MW's in the world, Sakuraba had trouble fighting Royce Gracie I think that's a mismatch nowdays.

Akiyama's hands have gotten ridiculously good since he lost the GI. I thought he had Misaki out with that 1-2.

Akiyama's becoming a solid fighter, he has some nice stand-up and solid ground skills.
Misaki is one tough guy to finish, though, so I wasn't surprised to see him survive that nasty onslaught by Akiyama. He can take a solid punch.

DREAM looks like it's going to be the legit number 2 promotion. Their lw and mw divisions are loaded. And if this WVR doesn't pan out, I can see Barnett, Gomi and others being signed.

It wouldnt surprise me to see the two join forces considering im going to think theyre more worried about taking down the ufc than fighting each other...

This is looking really solid. I always like me some Middleweights, and outside of the UFC there are some really good ones, and now theyre mostly all in DREAM.
Hey I'd really like to see Jorge Santiago in this after his last few performances.

He's more than a solid fighter Damone. I mean I think the guy is close to breaking into the top 5 MW's in the world. He is much better IMO than Okami, Lawler, and Marquandt. I think he is slightly better than Franklin as well. I think Akiyama is the best MW in the world outside of Anderson, Henderson, and Lindland. If Frank starts fighting again than I would put him up there as well.

Good call I mean Jorge is on a roll and he has been beating guys like crazy. Outside of beating Sean Salmon which anyone can do his last 4 wins have been great and he is starting to show he can compete with top notch fighters.

Anderson Silva vs Akiyama would be an interesting fight, since I think Akiyama could give him some problems.

How well do you guys think Akiyama fairs against a solid ground fighter like Filho, Almeida?
We know he has some of the craziest hands at 185, but he hasn't really been tested against someone with great sub skills.
