It's a shame, but it's true. He developed a really unhealthy taste for being punched and stomped on by Wandy.

I know, but I felt pretty twisted watching Saku get beaten up over and over again. He's one of my all-time greats, but damn, he's a glutton for punishment.

Sakuraba vs Smirnovas:The fight where Saku lost some more brain cells and should've lost the fight.
Saku needs to hang up the orange undies. Just stop, please.

Saku didn't lose that fight anymore than Nog lost to Herring.
Also, he isn't that broken down, he looked broken down against Royce, then looked great in two fights.

It was way worse than Nog vs Herring 3. Sakuraba was taking nasty, nasty, nasty shots. Any ref with a brain would've stopped that. But, of course, the biased ref didn't and Saku ended up winning. Smirnovas was really screwed over in that fight, because Sakuraba was basically just letting the guy pound his face.
How did he look great in 2 fights? Beating a pro-wrestler and an old Funaki? He looked far from great in those fights.

Saku, like Ken — god love them both — is one of those guys who seem intent on keeping on until they've suffered brain damage and have contributed to the vilification of the sport as violent and brutal.
We're just getting to the point where most of the first-generation guys are retiring, and the sport can only be harmed in the Sakurabas and Ken Shamrocks of the world are left drooling by the time they hit 50.
Sounds like a cold way to put it, I know, but seriously, enough is enough.
I love Sakuraba. He's a warrior if ever there was one. But he has to stop hurting himself like this. That, or someone has to stop him.
Back the original topic, Denis Kang is a cool dude. I look forward to his next fight.

Most, if not all refs would have stopped Nog vs. Herring when Nog went down. DO you disagree?
You donn't think Nog was Lucky he got the ref he did?
Saku may have beaten a young pro-wrestler, but he looked good doing it, his hand speed, the way he moved, e just looke good.
Funaki is a great groundfighter, and like I told you before, he is actually younger than Saku. Saku subbed him really early, how is that not looking good?
