Poor Dida. We should all give bbjd7 one big hug. It's okay, buddy, at least he went peacefully....sorta.
I didn't see the show, was JZ really giving Aoki the bidness that bad?
jdun11, watch Aoki's fights with Kikuchi. You'll see why I'm on his nuts 24/7. Oh, and the Hironaka fight.

Im not saying he sucks Damone. But if he is fighting someone like JZ he is going to worked. His wrestling isnt good enough for him to use his jitz against these elite fighters.
JZ wasnt killing Aoki. But he had rocked him a few times and and got a knockdown. A weird knockdown but it was a knockdown.

I just watched the fight again. JZ was by no means throwing Aoki a beat down, but he definitely looked like he was working towards it. It did really look like Aoki had nothing on him. He couldn't take him down, he can't out strike him, he can't out-wrestle him. The only way I see Aoki beating him would be by some crazy submission out of no where. Like jdun said, the TKO victory was imminent.
Oh and I just watched replays over like 20 times and swear to god those elbows looked like they hit the back, and the controversial one looked like it hit the back of the shoulder. Obviously I wasn't there, but it really doesn't look like it hit the back of the head to me, Aoki really seemed to make it quite dramatic, but I dunno maybe he was really that hurt....
I'm really hoping the rumour of them fighting again in the next round is true...

Nice to see Hansen win. I like the guy a lot, and he beat a seriously tough opponent.
My man, Buscape won, which rules.
Poor Dida. We might have to put bbjd7 on suicide watch.
Kawajiri will probably win this thing, since it seems like JZ & Aoki are out.
JZ vs Aoki ends in a NC? Lame. Haven't seen the fight, but damn, talk about disappointing.

Hellboy is my pick to take the whole thing...so seeing him make it out of RD 1 even with a UD is cool.
JZ/Aoki was an illegal elbow but not sure who threw the damn thing. Any chance they will fight again before RD 2 or in RD 2? The situation reminds me of Fedor/Minotauro from the HWGP which led to there third meeting.

Wow, crappy ending to the JZ/Aoki fight. JZ was schooling him too.
Hellboy looked awesome. Absolutely awesome.
Dida got his ass handed to him. Standing up it was pretty good. He rocked Eddie but Eddie recovered extremely well. Once in went to the ground Dida got smoked.
Black Mamba did a lot better against Kawajiri than I thought he would have. That front kick was nasty.
Ishida looked solid.
Cro Cop whooped up on some random dude.
Why does Minowa always have to fight guys WAY bigger than him? I guess it's his gimmick.

Since the Mirko fight was the only one I can find to watch, my only thought is:
Why in the world would you choose those shorts?
Bad Mirko, bad

JZ was making him look pretty ordinary, but it was obvious he wanted nothing to do with being in his guard.

Oops. Not so much.
Eddie got a basic single, and put Dida down easily with it. TDD anyone?
Dida swinging wildly did not impress me, and Eddie throwing him around & pounding on him was wonderful.

Finally watched JZ vs Aoki. Yeah, Aoki really didn't have anything for JZ, and it went exactly as I thought it would go, except I expected it to be longer and without a NC. JZ is just a terrible match-up for Shinya, and it showed. Aoki jumped guard many times, and JZ's like, "Nu-uh, dawg, get up!" That punch JZ threw while Aoki was in the buttscoot position was swanky.
The elbow, don't know, looked like it hit the shoulder and that Shinya was looking for a DQ. Not too sure, I wasn't Aoki, but it seemed like it.
