Aoki-JZ moved forward to the Quarter Finals / Other DREAM notes.
Since the fight was a no contest, we will see it in the Quarter finals, according to wikipedia.
It was such a shame because this fight was the one everyone was looking forward to, and it ended like that.
Wiki also shows these brackets
Shinya Aoki
JZ Calvancante
Eddie Alvarez
Tatsuya Kawajiri
Mitsuhiro Ishida
Luiz Firmino
Joachim Hansen
Katsuhiko Nagata
What did you guys think of Alvarez pounding on Dida? How will his fight with Kawajiri go? Kawa pretty much dominated the whole fight.
We didn't see Ishida vs. Buk yung which i was annoyed about because he had a close fight with Shinya. I wanted to see what his performance was like. Ishida - Buscape should be nice.
Hansen dominated his fight, good performance, would think he'd beat Nagata.
Now that the Aoki-JZ fight has been moved to Quarter Finals, this means no Shaolin or Uno which could of been the 8th 1st round fight.
Easy fight for Sakurai aswell.

I think Dida needs to either work on his ground game or his TDD because I don't think anyone at 155 can stand with him. He rocked Alvarez pretty hard and Alvarez is a big dude. But for the second fight in a row he got destroyed on the ground and he really needs to figure something out because he is so good standing.
If these are really the brackets then it's going to be Kawajiri, Ishida, JZ, and Hansen in the Semi's which is a pretty good group.
Also another note from the show Dida's Punisher's UDL shorts were sick looking.

I hope those are the brackets cuz I'm liking those.
I'd be confident in saying JZ and Hansen will be in the semis. Ishida will most likely beat Buscape but it should be a good fight.
I'd have a little trouble picking the winner of Kawijiri/Alvarez. Kawijiri does have more wins over notable opponents, but I was really impressed with Alvarez in his fight with Dida, this one should be good.
Can't wait for the next round.

Whoa wait, nice to see JZ vs Aoki has a chance of happening again. I just read the results and figured that they were both out.
Dammit, why does Buscape get paired up with freakin' Ishida? Dammit!
Of course, I am going by the Wik brackets, as they could be false.

He was not looking good at all man, I like Aoki but he's got nothing on JZ. He needs to pull some crazy flying arm bar or something out of his ass in order to beat him, because I don't see how else he can do it..
Oh and I agree with your Semi's line up, I think Alvarez will put up a really tough fight against Kawajiri though, should be good.

I lost a little respect for Aoki. The shot was hard, but what if he fought in the UFC? Is he going to quit after getting hit with an Elbow. I just dont get it. There have been some cases where an illegal blow occured and I could understand. I think when Wes Simms stomped out Frank Mir that was understandable. But sometimes it seems like some guys just want out of the fight. Lets say you dont know shit about MMA. And you meet Aoki on the street and he is telling you about his last fight, and he is explaining to you that the fight was stopped and is going to be rescheduled because he got elbowed. I think most people would be pretty confused. Its a fight. You are supposed to get hit. Its the same with when guys get grazed in the nuts and take a 3 minute break. I dont know. Maybe Im just built different. None of that stuff usually hurts me til the next day.
No offense to Aoki fans. I dont mean to be a dick. This is a topic I have been meaning to bring up for awhile. Sorry if it seems like Im just taking a shot at him. Im not.

Alvarez could put up a tough fight against Crusher, but I think Crusher has this in the bag if JZ vs Aoki doesn't happen again.
But, I will still hope that my wild card pick-Buscape-wins.

Aoki wasn't getting killed but it sure looked like only a matter of time befor JZ caught him real hard and it also looked like Aoki didn't really have anything for JZ. It was too early to say definitively though. Also the pants Aoki was rockin' were ridiculous. Only Shinya could pull off the pastel look. The man has a style all his own.
I'm so glad we'll see this fight in the quarters.
Ishida vs. Buscape sounds sick as does Alvarez vs. Kawajiri.

I'm kind of worried about Buscape here, sirdilnik. He's sort of like a really aggressive, more exciting Aurelio, and we all know what happened to Maximus when he faced Ishida.
