Even after being so disrespected, Akiyama was still classy to the end.
I really hope Misaki joins this tournament and gets embarrassed by Akiyama.
Also, I really hope the Donger DongBars his way into the finals.
Akiyama and Dong in the finals!~~~ ^^ I wish..
I pick Akiyama to win the whole Grand Prix.

Akiyama wasn't "completely pounding" Misaki lol.
Also, illegal soccer kick? NC was the only real way that could have gone, Akiyama had the soles of both his feet on the ground, he really wasn't down at all. He had a hand resting on the mat, thats all.
Saku will whomp Tamura after Tamura whomps Funaki. That will basically undoubtedly solidify Saku as the greatest Japanese MMArtist of all time. It shall be awesome.

Akiyama was giving Misaki the business for most of that fight The Negation I don't think you can argue that. Also beating Tamura at this point really doesn't mean all that much. I mean it's kinda like if Frank Shamrock and Saku fought now to determine who was better in 1999.
I think Akiyama is taking this tournament because his stand up is very good and his judo is very good. However I think Jacare could upset anyone in this tournament. I think Jacare could beat Akiyama and Kang if he has the right gameplan and since he's been training at Xtreme Couture I wonder if Randy will be out there cornering him?

Minowa will come out with the sickest mullet this planet has ever seen and stomp fools all the way to the finals.

He was winning yes, but he was only "completely pounding" Misaki for about twenty seconds near the end, after which Misaki got up and KTFO him.

I agree. Jacare has the potential to beat anyone, his BJJ is sick and his striking is improving. One of my favorite MMA up-and-comers. I'm taking him to win the tournament.

^ I don't think he ready to win 4 fights at this level of MMA but I do think he could make a nice run. I just don't see anyway Jacare could beat both Kang and Akiyama in the semi's and the Final which he would probably have to do since they are surely going to try and set up Kang vs Akiyama 2 in the final.

I actually think Tamura beats Saku at this point.
Sakuraba should be the greatest Japanese MMA fighter of all time regardless.

It all depends on if he can get the Takedown, and I think he can.
Then again, if Saku decided to accept a fight with Fedor I'd probably still be right behind......arguing that he has the ptential to sub Fedor.

I hope we get to see the Akiyama Vs Misaki II in the first round/second round. Gotta admit though this MWGP is lookin real solid. I really wish Anderson Silva could compete in this...Silva Vs Misaki, Kang and Akiyama all interest me more than what the UFC can really offer him right now.
