Jacare vs. Trigg
http://fiveouncesofpain.com/2008/04/...za-at-dream-2/
I think Trigg better use his wrestling to keep this on their feet because if he doesn't I think Mr. RNC will lose another fight because of the sub.
I got Jacare round 2 RNC
Note - I know BP already posted the updated card but I think this fight should have it's own thread with a poll if the mods disagree than w/e shut the thread down.

Wow this card looks awesome (if the rumormill is true). Kang's first fight in 2008 against Mousasi (whom I'd never heard of prior to this but he's sitting on an awful pretty record).
Anyway, as for the poll... I voted for Trigg because I think he his the obvious stand-up advantage, he has plenty of experience against top-notch grapplers (Dewees, Miller, Hallman) and knows how to avoid the submissions, the question will be whether he takes down Jacare or vice-versa. I think Twinkle-toes is going to be able to setup a shot better with his striking (and therefore finish via GnP) and is less likely to be taken down by Jacare.
Although, if I had to bet on Trigg losing, I'd pick by RNC too.

Trigg did get embrassed by Carlos Condit who's guard isn't as good as Jacare's.

True but Condit's no slouch on the ground. Jake Shields couldn't finish him on the ground... and the kid's got quite a few submission victories. I'm not saying Trigg can't be submitted, but if he comes in with the right gameplan (GnP or keep it standing) I think he is going to be able to control where the fight takes place more than Jacare will.

O no doubt he can control where the fight will go but if he tries to GnP Jacare then I think he is in huge trouble. He couldn't last very long against Condit who is solid but his ground game and Jake Sheilds ground game for that matter aren't even in Jacare's league. His way to win this fight would be to keep it on their feet and stand and trade with Jacare however I'm not sure if he can do that for 3 rounds.

I love Jacare but honestly, I don't think this would be a good matchup for him.

Obvously if Jacare gets on top this is over but I think Trigg will sprawl and brawl in this fight. Good test for us to see how good Jacare really is at mma.

The three fighters you named have absolutely nothing on Jacare's BJJ. Jacare is no slouch on his feat either, for being a new talent in the MMA world. I got my boy Jacare.

This hasn't been happening for ages..
If they were fighting, Trigg WOULDN'T submit Jacare.
