Of course he won't it's not like he's the best fighter in the GP or anything.
It is so dumb how they let Uno have a free pass in round 1 of the LWGP and won't let Akiyama have a pass just because he is hated by everyone and everything in Japan.

“I don’t like to let one fighter start from 2ND round as a recommended fighter. As far as Uno, his achievement in the lightweight class is remarkable and has been fighting in MMA for long time. I think Uno should be OK to fight from the 2nd round. Akiyama won’t get the same as Uno, based on his experience and achievements.”
In other words: Uno never greased himself and almost killed Sakuraba.
Gotta say, Akiyama is sort of getting the Mezger treatment here.

I hope they don't give him preferential treatment, then he goes on to win the tourney anyway and shoves it in their faces. I mean, could the Akiyama haters please grow up? Hate him for the greasing incident...fine. But did you see how much class he showed when Misaki was being a total douche after their fight?
Did that seriously not earn him ANY respect?

Akiyama Out Of Tournament
Akiyama just held a press conference a bit ago and said that he will not be in it...Said he had re-injured his nose during training...aggrivated injury suffered against Misaki and it appears factured...he even brought x-rays and a doctor's note to his press conference!

Judging from the article, no, no it didn't.
Damn, now Akiyama's out of the tournament. I guess this is Kang's to win.

I bet you the Japanese fans are going to say he's scared to fight Saku which is a joke. The guy didn't roll himself in grease before his fight with Saku he put Lotion on in front of tournament officals. It's just wrong how people treat Akiyama. The guy is the best Japanese MW in the world IMO he kinda was owning Misaki until he blew it and I would take him in a fight against Okami.

Yeah, I'd take him in a fight against Okami. His stand-up is loads better and he hits like a truck. We're talking Matt Serra on steroids power. His ground game is good enough to neutralize Okami's GnP, and hell, he's a dope judoka, and he could take Okami down if he wanted to.
They're never going to let the Saku incident go.

I am pretty pissed off about this. Uno getting a pass into the 2nd but not Akiyama?
Honestly, Akiyama has a much better chance of winning this GP than Uno winning the LW GP.
I'm even more pissed that I won't be seeing Akiyama compete in this tournament. I really hope Akiyama fights soon and it's against Misaki.
This is pretty much Kang's GP to win.
This GP will be epic. DongBar vs Kang.
