Ronaldo Jacaré Interview
Quote:
“The opponent that they choose for me I it is great. I hope to be the toughest one”
Jacaré wants the toughest at DREAM
Mundial BJJ champion, Ronaldo Jacaré started very well at the DREAM middleweight GP, easily defeating the American Ian Murphy. Jacaré passed to the next round and commented with exclusively to TATAME.com about his first bout and from others Brazilians at the event and reveal also that he is not afraid of face Sakuraba at his next DREAM bout. “I am employee from DREAM and the opponent that they choose for me I it is great. I hope to be the toughest one”, said the Brazilian. Check out Ronaldo Jacaré complete interview below:
What did you think about your DREAM first fight?
It was great. I made a nive bout, but I have to improve and improve. I faced a wrestler, I took him down and I am happy with that, but I know I have to improve and I will improve.
Did DREAM tell you who will be your next opponent?
No, hey didn’t, but I am anxious to know.
Who would you like to face?
I am employee from DREAM and the opponent that they choose for me it is great. I hope to be the toughest one.
To face Sakuraba it would be a good fight at this point in your career?
Sakuraba had always fought well against BJJ fighters and won from many of them, I would be very happy if DREAM choose this fight.
What did the Japanese think about your performance?
They got crazy and they thought I am strong, but I will train to be better, more focused and stronger.
How was to fight at ? How was fans reception?
I always had the dream to fight in Japan. This dream came when I went to fight the BJJ Challenge Brazil vs. Japan and after the event I went to Pride to see Wanderlei (Silva) become the champion knocking out Quinton Jackson and when Rodrigo Minotauro took Cro Cop arm. I got crazy with that show and I talk to myself: “one day I will fight here”, and so am I here. Who watch DREAM knows that they were perfect in everything. And the reception was amazing, no comments. The Japanese people like our BJJ very much.
What do you think Gesias made to loose for Aoki?
Gesias is a warrior, had the chance to finish the fight at the first round. For sure he knows what he made wrong and he are going to adjust everything. He didn’t fought nicely and he knows that, but this can happen with any athlete. Each athlete fights at a different way, but against a flexible athlete as Aoki, I would fight fencing my hands under legs or I would try to pass the guard from outside.
And what did Nakahara made to losse for Sakuraba?
Nakahara were very well at the fight and with a amazing take down defense, but he needs to train his ground better. I talked with him and he is already doing that, and with time, the results are going to appear, because enthusiasm and determination he has.

Jacare has all of the tools to become a great fighter, he is strong, has great BJJ, and has heart chrisma and enthusiasm. As long as he can get enough experience agaist good opponents, I think he has a chance to be great. I for one would love to see him come over to the UFC if he ever puts together a solid string of fights. I for sure don't want him to come over to just get pounded by Anderson.

Jacare has the heart and courage required for MMA as well. Can't imagine that man tired. And yeah, he seems strong like a bull! As long as he gets his striking/wrestling at a good level he's really on his way to win this tournament.

Jacare is such a fun grappler to watch. I always love to watch guys like him that can teach you new ways to look at things from just one match.
