Dont forget about Kawajiri guys, he has a similar skill set to Alvarez but he has spent more time in the fire. Alvarez has proven himself to be a monster at 155 but I have always thought that Hansen is a tad overrated and Alvarez is underrated. Not that Hansen isnt good, he has a great guard, and probably the most pound for pound power in all of mma but Alvarez beating him, although an upset to me isnt that amazing. If alvarez wins this whole thing then dang hes the man but I still have Kawajiri to win the whole thing. What is the official word on Aoki? Is he in the tournament or out of it?

Why is it a LOL if Alvarez wins? He's a great fighter with only one loss on his record. I picked him to win against Joachim and he did. He has great, crisp striking with power, and great wrestling. On top of that he is very strong. I would not be in the least bit surprised if he won the whole tournament. Honestly, with the exception of Nagata, everyone left has a good chance to win.

yeah he is good, the thread makes it sound like it is freakin Andy Wang that is about to win it all, but I dont think the thread starter meant it like that, I think he just meant because no one even threw Alvarez's name in the mix to win this at the start and now he is emerging as a favorite.

Yeah, I re-read the opening post and I wish I could erase the thumbsdown from my post now. I know Southpaw wasn't trying to disrespect Eddie. My bad.

Alverez did not completely dominate Hansen. It was quite close in the end actually, but the fight was simply amazing!!! Eddie owned Joachim early on, but Joachim is a warrior and he came back strong. Both guys are winners in my eyes because they both put on an awesome fight. It's too bad only one can move on.

I wasn't try to disrespect him at all. LOL was a way of saying it was totally unexpected like a Gabe Gonzaga beating Cro Cop LOL.
With so much talent in this GP I never though Eddie would've made it this far. I actually thought Andre Dida was going to beat him.

Besides, Aoki is out with an injury, no? Kawajiri would be a tough fight for Alvarez though, maybe even Uno. I haven't watched the fight, but Uno was apparently very game. I was very surprised that he beat Ishida.

Aoki is still in the tournament, he was at Dream 3 and he was saying that this is his tournament and no one is going to beat him. He looked like a nerd as well lol.
I have Alvarez to win this too, but man his eyebrows look well gay lol.

Dammit, Buscape is gone and Hansen is gone. Aoki, you have to make me a proud daddy.
I was totally not surprised to see Kawajiri beat Buscape again, but I was a tad heartbroken....again.
