DREAM DREAM is a new mixed martial arts organization promoted by: Fighting and Entertainment Group (owners of K-1), and co-produced with the former PRIDE executives from Dream Stage Entertainment. DREAM succeeds and will replace FEG's previous-run mixed martial arts fight series, HERO'S. The series has many of the elaborate production values of PRIDE FC.

You say you know he was the reserve match but don't understand why he was picked to fight in the finals when a fighter couldn't continue or why he was picked to be fighting in the reserve match? If its the first one lol look up why they have reserve matches and what they do.
If the second, well Gill lost to Kawa in the opening round, Hansen lost to Alvarez in the second round, Dida recently fought in a K-1 match, the other fighters from the first round weren't exactly impressive, and the only fighter I can think of that should have been in the reserve match would be Ishida. I don't know why they didn't make it Ishida vs Hansen but this seemed the only other logical choice.

Damn man Dida got a raw deal. He is ten times better than Gill it should've been Dida vs Hansen.
I feel bad for Alvarez who was the best fighter in the GP.
Hansen however took advantage of a chance and did a good job.
I love Aoki but he is pretty one dimensional so it's tough for him to win a fight when he's tired.

Alright thanks for info- I just didn't how these tourneys resolved something like this and when I was reading through this posts and saw Aoki-Hansen in the finals I was
EDIT: Also- I really didn't feel like doing a huge research project when after reading through a couple of entries on the tournament on other sites they provided no details on how Hansen was selected. So I thought I'd ask a question on a forum with knowledgable people - crazy stupid idea huh?

Dida vs Hansen would have ruled, especially if it didn't hit the mat. Dida looked good in this years K1 Max
Aoki is one dimensional as a mma fighter, but his grappling acumen is very diverse with backgrounds in ju jitsu, BJJ and Judo. He didn't look that tired, but who knows. Awesome job by Hansen to pound him out, something JZ couldn't do (well came close anyways).
155 in DREAM is so awesome. Alvarez/Hansen 2 on the way, Aoki, JZ, Kawajiri, Ishida, all in there with the potential for guys like Melendez and Thomson to head over. Those are just fighters with the name value, dissapointing that Takanori Gomi can not mix it up in DREAM.
Also, it's obvious to me that Affliction needs to ditch the football field ring after watching this. Really prevents too much back peddling.

Honestly Dida vs Hansen on the feet would've been a bigger deal to me than the whole Affliction card.
I love the DREAM LW divison. I just wish that less guys were good wrestlers.
Because Dida can beat all of them on the feet.
And No doubt Aoki's well rounded on the ground it's just that a fresh Aoki is tough to beat because even though you know what he wants to do he's so hard to stop. When he's tired he's a little bit easier to deal with.

You know that face where it looks like someone farted in my cereal, and I'm stuck there wondering why they did it, in disappointment and astonishment? Well I'm making it right now.
I truly don't understand how Dida manages to come up in about 86% of your posts, regardless of content.
The guy lost in the first round, very soundly at that as well. Now, I know Kultar did as well, and I'm totally against that, but I truely think the smartest and most realistic thing DREAM could have done was to make Ishida vs. Hansen. Not Dida, not Kultar.
And I still think Alvarez and maybe Hansen and Kawajiri of old could beat Dida standing.

I'm sorta wishing I had stayed up all night to watch this, sounds like it ruled, I have only seen the Alvarez/Kawajiri, Aoki/Uno and Hunt/Overeem fights so far.
Bleh I bet on Alvarez to take this thing.
Kawwajiri vs. Alvarez was one of the best fights I have seen in ages, I just wish Kawajiri could have taken it and won the whole thing.
Hunts fight was depressing.

Indeed, Hunt is becoming a huge let down everytime he fights these days.
And I to wished Kawajiri could have roughed it out and took this.

Alvarez and Kawwajiri was amazing. FOTY contender. Alvarez comes to fight I love that dude. I gotta make some room in my favorite fighters list, Its a shame that they didn't let him fight Aoki. Kawwajiri looked awesome last night look forward to seeing him fight again Eddie just wore him out.

Affliction and DREAM>>>>>>>UFN14
Affliction 9/10 (would be a 10 if not for Lindland and buentello)
DREAM 10/10
UFN14 7/10 (Rory, Anderson and Velasquez beatdowns)
