Noons shouldn't be at 160#. He weighed 162# on Monday.
As much as I'm pulling for him, EliteXC is basically picking their 160# champion. Don't get me wrong, I'm not counting him out, but on paper, Noons is in trouble.

Baruch's takedowns are unbelievable and he doesn't let up. And Baruch has been starting with submissions already locked in deep on KJ and forcing him to escape. Once on his feet, I think KJ can take it to Diaz.
I also keep hearing about how Crazy Horse knocked KJ out in the first round. Yes, and Joe Lauzon knocked out Jens Pulver in the first round, but I don't know anyone who would say that Joe is a better fighter than Jens.
Yeah, I'm biased, but I gotta stick by my gym!
WAR KJ!!!

I had to quote myself. I wasn't just talking out my ass. This wasn't a fluke or a lucky guess. KJ's striking is precise, and his takedown defense is actually improved since the Berto fight. I'm really impressed with how he brought it all together for this fight. I had faith in him already, but he really showed that he's learning the MMA game. He looked good in the berto fight, but this was on another level.

I know I'm going off on the Noons thing but I have never been so excited about a fight. It's pretty cool to see someone you see in JJ class take out Diaz.
Here's a video of one of our JJ teacher's fights. He's the lighter skinned guy, Carlos Baruch.
YouTube - Carlos Baruch x Nilson de Castro - 1 of 2 (Meca X)
Now imagine KJ noons walking around at 162# trying to fend of Baruch's takedowns. Baruch doesn't have the best mma record, but the guy is an amazing trainer and has great takedowns. The power behind his takedowns is what, 5x greater than Diaz's. Training with Baruch paid off! I'd give him half the credit for the win.
